Hey there!
My name is Shannon, and I'm so glad that you are here.Â
Life for ministry women can feel lonely.
I know because I've experienced it.
Â
Church has been woven into the fabric of my life from the very beginning. Raised in a home where faith was the cornerstone, I watched my parents serve in nearly every capacity imaginable—whether leading worship, managing the soundboard, or discipling new believers. Music became second nature to me, and at just five years old, I found my voice singing in church. As I grew, so did my role in ministry, but alongside the beauty of deep connections and life-changing moments, I also witnessed the complexities and heartaches that can come with church life.
As a self-proclaimed "good church girl," I did everything I could to follow the rules, often at the expense of feeling truly seen and known. When my high school friends took paths that veered away from faith, I found myself feeling left out and rejected. That hurt planted seeds of doubt about my worth, a struggle that would follow me for years. Yet, in the midst of it all, I encountered God’s calling on my life with undeniable clarity during a worship service in high school. That moment set my heart on a path of ministry, leading me to Grand Canyon University to study Vocal Performance and Elementary Education.
The journey was not without its trials. Rejections in college deepened my feelings of inadequacy, yet God continued to open doors—like leading worship in my university’s chapel worship band. After graduation, I stepped into teaching while co-leading worship, but it was during that season that my life took an unexpected turn. Meeting my future husband felt like a divine appointment, yet our journey to marriage came with challenges. When we found out we were expecting a child before we were married, I was devastated, convinced I had ruined God's plan for my life. But in the darkest season of my shame, God’s grace met me through the love of my family, my pastor, and my church. Three months after our son was born, I was invited back into worship ministry, a powerful reminder that my failures didn’t define me—God’s love did.
My husband and I continued to pursue ministry, with me stepping into my first official worship leader role at a small church of 100 people while he followed his calling to seminary. Throughout the following 12 years, we experienced the highs and lows of church leadership in churches of varying denominations and sizes, from witnessing lives transformed to navigating painful betrayals and unexpected losses. Ministry has a way of refining you through both joy and heartbreak. When we felt called to move across the country for a new season, we followed in faith, even when it meant enduring personal struggles, financial uncertainty, and deep exhaustion. I juggled multiple jobs, solo-parented while my husband transitioned ahead of us, and ultimately found myself burned out and questioning everything—including my faith.
Depression became a shadow I couldn’t escape, especially during those harsh Midwest winters of our new home. Stepping down from worship ministry felt like losing my identity, and yet, in the stillness, God began to show me something new. My greatest ministry was right in front of me—my family. And beyond that, He began opening my eyes to the needs of other women in ministry a few years later, particularly pastor’s wives, who often walk lonely, heavy roads like I had experienced.
Through my own healing journey, I discovered a passion for helping others navigate their own struggles and step into the fullness of who God created them to be. What started as a whisper from the Holy Spirit became a burning desire to create a space for women in ministry to find encouragement, growth, and community.
I used to believe that God had only one purpose for my life—that I was created to connect people to the heart of God through worship ministry. But He has shown me that my worth isn’t in titles, achievements, or even my ability to follow the rules. My worth is in being His. Now, I’m still embracing that calling but in a different setting - to encourage, uplift, and walk alongside other women in ministry to connect them to His heart and to others who get ministry life, and to help them grow into the greatness God created them for, knowing that God weaves every chapter—both the struggles and the victories—into a story that brings Him glory.
No matter where you are on your journey, know this: nothing you’ve done or will do can undo God’s plan for your life. He is bigger than your mistakes, greater than your fears, and faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you. And when the hardships come, it is possible to hold space for the hard, without losing your peace and joy that is promised to you through Jesus Christ. And that’s a truth worth holding onto.

Professional Bio
Shannon Waldron is a a gifted teacher, speaker, worship leader, pastor's wife, life coach, and founder of The Good Ministry Life, who is passionate about helping Christian women step into the greatness that God created them for. We live in a very broken world, and we've all experienced hurts and hardships that have fractured our beliefs about the world, others, ourselves, and even God. This can lead us to experience our lives through our brokenness, rather than the greatness that God created us for.
After years of healing from her own struggles, and seeing so many other women in ministry living life broken, frustrated, and ready to quit, God birthed something new in Shannon's heart. She is a passionate leader who is following God's call on her life to lead others to healing and wholeness emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually so they can step into the greatness God created them for and LOVE this life they get to live!Â
